When Calls the Heart Season 12: Edie’s Possible Link To Fiona Revealed

Hearties did a double take when Edie debuted in Season 12 of When Calls the Heart. They noticed that she looked like another character who’s making her return to Hope Valley.

Uncanny Resemblance

Hearties first learned about Edie (Miranda MacDougall) in Episode 2 of WCTH entitled “You Get What You Give.” Some are remarking that she looks like Fiona Miller (Kayla Wallace). It could be possible that there’s a link between these two ladies.

“I did a double take with the actress Miranda MacDoogle [SIC] and she looks a lot like Kayla Wallce–could be her cousin she looks so similar. Both are lovely women,” the original poster wrote on Reddit.

Hearties are wondering whether this casting was intentional. “I see it! She’s very pretty. They both are,” one Redditor responded. “Oh, I’m sure they’ve considered any and all of the single women. I’m ok with him & Fiona. She’s feisty and fun,” another fan commented. “I didn’t see that at all,” a third user argued.

Who Is Edie?

Edie was supposedly introduced as Lucas Bouchard’s potential new love interest. She’s a savvy woman who embraces the modern Roaring Twenties lifestyle. The successful attorney inherited her uncle’s cattle ranch, which is located outside of Hope Valley. Edie and Lucas butt heads, until they eventually fall in love.

One fan teased this theory in the Reddit thread, “I just found it a little… funny that Kevin is now Erin’s romantic partner while the Kayla look alike is Chris’s. I wonder if they had once considered Kayla–Fiona as Lucas’s girlfriend? Hmm.”
