She wanted them to share the dark and messy parts, especially since she’s been doing most of that in Season 2. Brittany revealed more texts she revealed from Jax Taylor. He shared with her that he’s been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. He entered a mental health facility in Episode 2. But this wasn’t news for the group, who had been through this with Jax before.
Jax Reacts
On the After Show, Jax shared his reaction to his bipolar diagnosis. He revealed that he “cried his eyes out” the first moment he heard those words. However, the cast had their doubts. Cast member Zack Wickham admitted that Jax “has been diagnosed with that before.”
In another interview, Danny explained that his friends already found out that he was bipolar years ago, and he “refused to take his medication.” Jax explained that he thought he had depression. He tried Lexapro, but it “didn’t really work for me.” He gave up on getting help for his mental health.

In Denial?
Brittany told Lala Kent that Jax refused to take medication to treat his bipolar disorder. “That prescription sat in my junk drawer, and he never got it filled,” she said. Brittany and her sister begged Jax to get his prescription filled. Jax explained to Jesse and Tom Schwartz that he was diagnosed with depression the first time around. “I didn’t get the prescription filled. No,” he admitted. “The first time. Then I got the prescription filled the second time with Lexapro,” and he felt nothing.
That’s when Jax agreed to enter a rehab facility. The Vanderpump Rules alum admitted that he wanted to fix himself. But he was told that he needed the medication, and he’s “glad to be on it” now. Jax “doesn’t have blowups anymore,” but Schwartz pointed out his “small bouts of rage.” Brittany said that her fights with Jax are “less intense,” but he still has up and down days.
