How Golden Bachelorette Fans Felt About Gerry Turner’s Return

Gerry Turned showed up at the mansion on the Wednesday, October 2nd episode of The Golden Bachelorette. Most of them were upset that he ruined a sweet moment. 

Joan’s Struggles

ABC has been teasing Gerry Turner’s return. He showed up at the mansion to give Joan Vassos advice. She realized she hadn’t given the men what they deserved and wanted to be vulnerable and honest with them.

Joan is still mourning the loss of her late husband. She’s unsure whether she will ever find love again. In addition, Joan learned from her family that her mom was having health issues. She felt guilty about being at the mansion. 

She broke the news to the men before spending time with some of them. The men tried to make her feel good by dressing up in silly costumes or sharing a prayer for her mom.

Gerry Turner’s Return

Joan still needed someone who understood her situation. Host Jesse Palmer informed Joan that someone else was here to see her. Gerry returned to the mansion to speak with her. He emerged from a limousine in a suit. 

Joan was excited to see Gerry again. But then she admitted that she was “a little more scared.” Gerry advised Joan just to be herself. He asked, “Have you considered the possibility that your guy is not here?”

Bachelor Nation Fans React

Bachelor Nation fans weren’t happy to see Gerry’s return. Many took to X, formerly Twitter, to share their reaction to the scene. Some fans noticed that Gerry rocked a fresh tan. 

“Dear producers, we don’t want Gerry on our screens,” one fan wrote. “Anyone else immediately a little annoyed at hearing Gerry’s voice? Not to be harsh, but did he need to be brought back?” another user wondered.

“Gerry has lost his luster since Joan last saw him,” another fan joked, sharing a screenshot of Gerry’s appearance.

Fans turned on Gerry after his season of The Golden Bachelor. The Hollywood Reporter published an exposé of the widower. Gerry’s former girlfriend revealed he lied about his dating history. He once again received backlash when he ended his three-month marriage to Theresa Nist.
