Captain Lee Rosbach used to be Below Deck’s stud of the sea until he left the network. That all changed after Captain Jason Chambers entered the scene. Before the Season 3 premiere of Below Deck Down Under, the hunk shared his feelings about his sex symbol status.
Heating Up Bravo
Chambers was featured in a sizzling promo for Season 3. He got wet as he took a dip in the Australian waters. (Check out the steamy teaser that he posted on social media.) Now, in a new interview with TV Insider, Chambers addressed his sex symbol status. Even though it’s not really his thing, he tries to have fun with it, especially when it comes to the charter guests.
“It’s far from me, personally,” Chambers said. “The primaries run with it. I’m a captain, and this is the bit they are using. I find it a bit cringe, but let’s just go with it. I try not to watch it. I am flattered.”
The reality series will warm up your cold winter with shots of the Seychelles. There are familiar faces this year, such as deckhand Harry Van Vliet and chef Tzarina Mace-Ralph. For the first time this year, Mace-Ralph will be working alongside a sous chef, which is sure to bring some drama.
‘Hardest’ Charter Yet
Elsewhere in the interview, Chambers remarks that this is the “hardest” charter season he’s ever had. He had to push himself “mentally and physically” more than ever. However, Chambers is happy with the way he closed out the season. “I’m proud of myself, holding it together. From Season 1 to now, it has taught me what a stable and prepared mind can do because I know what’s ahead,” Chambers explained.
According to him, a successful charter season is one where he’s not “losing my sh*t.” It would make for good television, but it wouldn’t be good for Chambers’ yachting career. He would rather focus and keep his head on straight, even when things go awry. “You’re going to see it crumble, lose everything, and work to put it back together and make it to the end of the season. Or they will look back and see the show and say, ‘I could have been better,'” he added.
Below Deck Down Season 3 premieres on Monday, February 3 at 8 p.m. EST on Bravo. New episodes stream the following day on Peacock.
