Michelle Stafford and Finola Hughes Pay Tribute To a Legend

GH star Finola Hughes (Anna) was one of the first soap stars to speak out following Keaton’s death.

“What an absolute legend. Her style forever etched in our minds, her comic genius, her integrity to herself. A beautiful life well lived, my heart goes out to her children and family. We will all miss her joie de vivre, rip lovely Diane Keaton,” read part of Hughes’ Instagram share.

The actress gushed over several of Keaton’s hit films like Annie Hall, Baby Boom, and Something’s Gotta Give. Hughes acknowledged Keaton for being herself, funny, brilliant, and one of a kind.

Y&R’s Michelle Stafford (Phyllis) shared two of her favorite clips of Keaton’s in a lengthy Instagram Post. One was from Annie Hall, and the other was from The Godfather.

The soap starlet recalled the time she got to audition for Keaton, who was directing an episode of China Beach. Stafford admitted to fangirling over Keaton, while also telling her she was nervous, which just made Keaton smile.

“I didn’t get the job but got the experience of being in the same room as her, directing me in this audition. That was kinda good enough for me. Anyway… I guess you can tell I know all things Diane Keaton. A remarkable talent. She made me want to be an actress. A true original,” Stafford said in part of her Instagram share.

More Soap Stars Honor Diane Keaton

GH’s Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis) brought up the fact that she and Keaton had something besides acting in common. Neither of them ever married.

“I’d like to point to Diane Keaton’s self owned contribution to the world as a delightful, unique, renowned, brilliant artist and devoted mother. Her remaining single may be in good part exactly why she was able to be all that. Just a thought,” she wrote in part of her social media message.

Kathleen Gati (Liesl, GH) kept her tribute simple. She thanks Keaton for what she did for the entertainment industry, while expressing her gratitude for the Hollywood icon whose legacy will never be forgotten.

GH star Kristina Wagner (Felicia) sent a message to Keaton’s two children, Dexter and Duke, on X. “Rest in peace Diane Keaton. Sending my deepest sympathies to Dexter and Duke. Much love from Harrison’s mom,” read her social media share.

The world became a little less funny with the loss of Diane Keaton, but her legacy will continue through her many films, which will keep fans laughing forever.

RIP legend.
