Dancing with the Star‘s Elaine Hendrix had to sit out on Halloween Night during Tuesday, October 28’s episode due to an injury.
The actress had hurt her ribs during her “Defying Gravity” performance for Wicked Night, and rehearsing her Mad Max-themed dance for Halloween aggravated the injury. When her ribs seized up, she was taken to the hospital. But, as she shared in an Instagram video, the doctor said she needed to rest for 1-2 days, and then she would be back in business.

Elaine Hendrix Keeps Fans In The Loop About Her Injury
Hendrix has been incredibly transparent with DWTS fans in the wake of the injury that prevented her from dancing during Halloween Night. Despite her absence, she and Bersten made it through to the next round of the competition, opening the path for a comeback from the star.
On Wednesday, October 29, the actress took to Instagram to update everyone who has been concerned about her condition. In the video, she shared that she would be back to rehearsals on Friday, October 31. What Hendrix worked on in the interim was pain management. She and Bersten also thanked everyone who’d reached out with their support and well wishes.
A little update from us. 🫶🏼 THANK YOU for every message, vote, and word of encouragement. We couldn’t do this without you. 🥹 The hardest part of yesterday was not being able to show you just how incredible our piece could have been. Here’s my costume, hair, and the overall inspo we had planned for last night. The DWTS creative team is THE BEST! 👏🏼✨ We love you so much! #TeamPartnerTrap #DWTS 💃🏼
The post included Hendrix’s look that she would have worn in Tuesday’s episode, as well as the styling that went into the conception of their Argentine Tango to “Bad to the Bone” by 2WEI & Bri Bryant.
Will Elaine Hendrix Be on DWTS Next Week?
It appears that the actress will be making a triumphant return to the DWTS ballroom, just as she had hoped. On Monday, she’d said, “I want to dance. I want to keep doing this,” and her resilience, Bersten’s support, and the fans voting to keep the pair in the competition have made that possible.
In an update she posted on Thursday, October 30, Hendrix and Bersten got cheeky, announcing she’s back to rehearsing. Lip syncing to an audio meme, Bersten stood in front of Hendrix as he said, “Riddle me this, riddle me that,” before he slid out the way for her appearance as Hendrix said, “Watch out girls this b—tch is back.”
It seems Hendrix will be setting fire to the dance floor for Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night, which should be a rollickin’ good time. She and Bersten will be dancing a Viennese waltz to “What the World Needs Now Is Love” by Dionne Warwick. They’ll also be competing on Team Kool with Julianne Hough, Alix Earle, Andy Richter, Robert Irwin, and their partners during a group routine to “Celebration” by Kool & the Gang.
The episode airs live Tuesday, November 4, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+. Next day streaming will be available on Hulu.
Note: Due to a carriage dispute between Disney and YouTube TV, ABC has gone dark on the pay-TV service, and subscribers won’t be able to watch the network’s programming on the platform until it’s resolved.
