Dancing with the Stars Fans React to Shocking Finale Result

Dancing with the Stars threw in a surprise twist during its grand finale. The Bachelor alum Joey Graziadei and his dance partner, Jenna Johnson, won the Mirror Ball Trophy. Season 33 is finally over. It was a season filled with budding showmances, controversial contestants, and jaw-dropping moments. The finale was no different. Fans are still digesting the final result. Most took to social media to react. 

Season 33 Surprise Final

DWTS aired a three-hour finale that pulled all the stops. In the final moments of Tuesday’s episode, host Alfonso Ribeiro revealed who won the coveted Len Goodman trophy. But first, he revealed which couples ended up in the fifth and fourth spots, respectively. 

NFL star Danny Amendola and his partner Witney Carson were placed in number five. Meanwhile, Olympian Stephen Nedoroscik and his dance partner Rylee Arnold ended up in fourth place. The next reveal shocked everyone.

Former Disney Channel star Chandler Kinney and her partner Brandon Armstrong ended up in third place despite having a strong season. It was then down to Joey Graziadei and Ilona Maher. The rugby player and her partner, Alan Bersten, were announced as the runners-up. Joey and Jenna ended up winning Season 33. 

DWTS Fans React

Bachelor Nation voted for Joey. That’s how he won the show. However, reaction to the finale was mixed. Fans stormed X, formerly Twitter, to make their voices heard. 

Some fans believed that Joey only won because ABC airs The Bachelor. A majority of the show’s former winners are from The Bachelor and The Bachelorette franchise. Joey is the first-ever contestant from The Bachelor to win the dancing competition.

But not all of the comments were negative. There are also fans who were happy about Joey’s win, even if they felt bad for Ilona and Chandler. This made them more conflicted in their feelings.
