Here’s Why Dancing with the Stars Alum Brooks Nader Still Wears Ex’s Engagement Ring

Brooks Nader ended her marriage earlier this year. However, the Dancing with the Stars alum kept one memento she kept from her ex-husband. She still wears the engagement ring that he gave her.

Something Old Into Something New

Brooks talked about her unconventional approach to divorce. Most women would pawn off their engagement ring, but that wasn’t true for Brooks. She spoke to PEOPLE about why she still wore it. But first, she revealed something else. The model also bought herself a “divorce ring.”

She’s been spotted with a large diamond ring, which sparked engagement rumors. Brooks has been involved with DWTS pro dancer Gleb Savchenko. Brooks admitted that her ring is not new. It’s something that she made for herself.

“Why should guys have all the fun? This is my divorce ring — a nine-carat offset pear on a simple gold band — that I designed with my longtime jeweler, Ring Concierge,” Brooks explained. “It’s my way of celebrating the next chapter of my life. Women deserve to buy themselves something fabulous just because so why not a sick divorce ring?!”

That’s not the only ring she has. Brooks also kept her engagement ring from her ex-husband Billy Hair, which she repurposed into a pinky ring. Brooks first wore the ring when she competed on Season 33 of DWTS.

Becoming Instagram Official

Gleb and Brooks’s romance first took place backstage at the show. The two went their separate ways in October. A month later, they rekindled their romance. They became Instagram official. “I don’t need anything else ♾️,” Gleb wrote in the caption.

In her interview with PEOPLE, Brooks was coy about their relationship. “Listen, he’s such a great person and a great guy, and I’ve loved getting to know him, and I’m having fun hanging out with him.” She previously shared that she doesn’t want to put a label on their relationship.
