Chris McNally Recalls Embarrassing BTS Moment On When Calls The Heart

When Calls the Heart is a serious drama. However, there are times when funny moments take place on set. The show’s star, Chris McNally, shared a funny mishap that wasn’t featured on the show.

Wardrobe Malfunction

In a live-stream chat with PEOPLE, McNally recalled a time when he embarrassed himself on the Hallmark Channel series. He admitted that his “pants exploded and tore apart” while filming a scene. Laughter roared across the set. McNally’s wardrobe malfunction had everyone cracking up. There wasn’t a serious expression in the room.

The actor was filming a scene that was shown on the Sunday, January 26 episode. In it, Lucas helps Edie Martell (Miranda MacDougall) recover a calf that escaped the farm. McNally tried to lasso the animal toward him. But then, he realized that something else happened. “I almost split my pants open when I picked that calf up. Oh yeah, I entirely blew the butt out of those pants,” McNally said.

Teasing Lucas and Edie’s Relationship

Also, in the interview, McNally revealed what’s next for Lucas. Edie could become his new love interest. The WCTH star is looking forward to seeing their relationship play out. “Edie’s great. I think that she and Lucas are on a fun journey this season,” McNally said. “They kind of go in and out of being against one another and then working together and getting to know each other more and more along the way.”

He teased that the characters will “challenge each other’s intellect.” Pascale Hutton, who plays Rosemary on the show, has already seen their relationship unfold. She talked about the moment when Lucas lassoed the calf. McNally’s hair draped over his forehead and eyes. The cast remarked that it was all about his hair. “I have been advocating for more tousled hair for years,” McNally joked.
