Below Deck Sailing Yacht’s Gary King Makes Major Change Amid Career Uncertainty

Gary King has been at the center of controversy for the past year. The Below Deck Sailing Yacht star was accused of assault by a member of production. Meanwhile, fans took note of his creepy and concerning behavior on the Bravo series.

Needless to say, Gary’s yachting career is currently in limbo. Despite the allegations, he’s still heavily featured in Season 5 of BDSY. The first officer recently made a major change that shocked fans. They never thought it would happen.

Making the Big Chop

Fans have been calling for the network to eliminate King from the show. The cast member claims he’s a victim of “cancel culture.” In the meantime, King has made some changes in his life. Ever since he debuted on Season 2 of Sailing Yacht, he’s known for his long hairstyle.

His signature hairstyle and hard work ethic were quickly overshadowed by his drunken antics and womanizing ways. King’s character was called into question again in the latest season. In the previous episode, he chucked a lollipop at chief engineer Davide Morosi’s face.

He bends over in pain as he has blood dripping down his face. King busted Morosi’s cheek. Once again, BDSY fans call out King’s questionable behavior. As the season plays out, King is doing away with one thing he’s known for. He chopped off his long locks. King posted a new video update on Instagram.

He looked remarkably different with his shorter hairstyle. He didn’t share any more details about his major transformation. Instead, King hinted that he’s still working in the yachting industry.

“Day 1 of my trip from Cape Town to Mallorca :),” he simply captioned his post.

King encouraged fans to join him on his yachting journey. In the clip, he panned the camera over to the crew of women he worked with. King’s future on the show is currently in question.

What Does This Mean?

Bravo hasn’t invited him to promote Season 5 on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. King was also removed from the 2023 BravoCon panel after the allegations surfaced, per ScreenRant. (Below Deck Mediterranean Made History By Not Firing Its Crew.)
