Us Weekly reports that Brent Freeburg ended up in a coma. He suffered a medical emergency earlier this month. Freeburg was a cameraman on Below Deck who saved Ashton Pienaar’s life. The incident occurred during Season 6 when a tow line wrapped around Pienaar’s ankle and pulled him overboard.
Freeburg quickly dove into the waters, not thinking twice about the incident. His main focus was helping Pienaar get back to shore. Pienaar was touched by that moment. He could’ve lost his life. He took to Instagram to post a tribute to Freeburg. It included a clip from their time on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
“Some people leave an impact on your life that you can never repay,” Pienaar wrote. “Brent is one of those people for me. I just heard that he’s suffered a stroke, and it’s a tough thing to process when someone who’s given you so much is now facing their own battle. If you have a moment, please keep him in your thoughts. Wishing him strength, healing, and a full recovery.”
Details On Freeburg’s Condition
New details about Freeburg’s medical emergency have come out. Jane MacMurchy created a GoFundMe page to help pay for his medical bills. The description reads: “Never has our family experienced a tragedy like this. Our sweet, stubborn, and strong Brent suffered two strokes and a subdural hematoma.”
Freeburg has had various jobs throughout the years. Not only did he work as a cameraman on Below Deck, but he also appeared on Dance Moms. Freeburg had no idea that he would become a reality television hero one day. We wish Freeburg a swift recovery. His family and friends are in our thoughts and prayers.
