5 Feel Good Shows Like When Calls the Heart That Hearties Will Love

When Calls the Heart Season 12 returned earlier this month. However, you might want more feel-good and wholesome television. After all, it is the coziest time of the year in most parts of the country. If you love WCTH, you will love these somewhat similar television shows.

When Hope Calls

When Hope Calls is a spinoff of WCTH. The first season originally aired on The Hallmark Channel. Great American Media acquired the rights to the second season, which is expected to air sometime in January 2025 on the Great American Network. (Get more details about Season 2 here.)

When Hope Calls is a series based on the popular books by Janette and Laurel Oke Logan. This show follows two sisters who grew up in an orphanage and are on the cusp of change involving growth and romance. (Find out if this series takes place in the same universe as the Hallmark series.)

Virgin River

This television series follows Melinda Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge), who works as a nurse practitioner. She moves away from the hubbub of Los Angeles to a quiet town in Northern California. She’s surprised by this slower-paced lifestyle. This romantic drama premiered on Netflix in 2019 and currently has five seasons.

The Good Witch

The Good Witch used to air on the Hallmark Channel. Don’t expect it to be soapy like Charmed or Passions. This charming little series follows Cassie Nightingale (Catherine Bell) and her daughter Grace (Bailee Madison).

Dr. Sam Radford (James Denton) and his son move in next door to Grey House, where good mischief happens. The two become enchanted by the magical mother and daughter. This show originally started as a made-for-TV film. (Find out the cast’s reaction to The Good Witch reboot rumors.)

Heartland

This western series is set in Alberta, Canada. Heartland follows Amy Fleming (Amber Marshall) and her rural, multi-generational family of young horsewomen who are trying to get through challenging times. At first glance, it might seem like a wholesome version of Yellowstone. However, it has a lot of heart. Heartland is based on the books by Lauren Brooke. Heartland is available to watch on UP Faith & Family.

Anne, With an E

Anne with an E tackles challenging topics like emotional neglect, orphanage, and trauma. It also addresses social justice issues like gender equality, racism, and conformity. This series is loosely based on the classic 1908 novel Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery. This period drama follows Anne (Amybeth McNulty) as she navigates her new life on Prince Edward Island. All three seasons are available to stream on Netflix.
