Peacock is hoping to strike gold again. Season 7 of Love Island USA premieres on Tuesday, June 3. Ten islanders are hoping to find love within six weeks. A new group of sexy singles is staying in a villa in Fiji, where they will couple up and compete for $100,000. Here are three reasons why this dating series is more like a soap opera.
1. Requires a Daily Commitment
Love Island USA drops on Tuesday, June 3 at 9 p.m. ET on Peacock. Like soap operas, it requires a daily commitment to keep up with the drama. New episodes will stream on the platform every day of the week except Wednesdays. On Saturdays, the show airs the special series, After Sun, which includes interviews with former contestants and other surprise guests. This is a good way to catch up with what happened during the week or to get your fix if you can’t get enough of the drama.
2. Steamy Love Connections
Most of the islanders are looking for love on this show. Or, so they claim. Some are influencers, so it can be hard to tell if they’re there for love or for fame. Because of this, there will be plenty of steamy hookups, especially when a lucky couple of the villa’s choice ends up in the exclusive Hideaway. For one night, they will take things to the next level as they get to know each other, physically and emotionally. This pivotal moment could make or break their connection.

3. Twists and Turns
Just like a soap opera, there are plenty of twists and turns at any moment. Neither the islanders nor the fans know what’s happening next. New bombshells could drop in at any moment. There could also be a sudden breakup, shocking recoupling, or love triangle. You never know. Someone might even turn out to be the villain of the villa. Fans also have the option to vote off the couple or islanders they don’t like, adding to the drama.
Meet the 10 original islanders who are joining the villa.
