Mythbusters Star Jessi Combs Dead At 36 After Tragic Accident

Professional racer Jessi Combs was tragically killed at the age of 36 on Tuesday, August 27, after being involved in an accident in Oregon. The former TV personality was known as the “fastest woman on four wheels.”

In fact, she was attempting to break a land speed record at the time when she crashed the vehicle while trying to reach 619 mph. Terry L. Madden, who was a member of Combs’ team, broke the sad news on Instagram today.

“So I don’t know how to say any of this but it all needs said. I have never loved or been loved by anyone as much as this amazing woman @thejessicombs she was truly my unicorn and I enjoyed every single minute that I had with her. She was the most amazing spirit that I have ever or will ever know,” he wrote.

“Unfortunately we lost her yesterday in a horrific accident, I was the first one there and trust me we did everything humanly possible to save her!! I’m not ok, but she is right here keeping my going-I made her a promise that if this didn’t go well that I would make sure and do good with it.”

This also comes just three days after Combs thanked her fans for their support and revealed she knows some people believe what she was trying to do was crazy.

“It may seem a little crazy to walk directly into the line of fire… those who are willing, are those who achieve great things. People say I’m crazy. I say thank you,” she wrote on her first post before adding on her second, “I just want to thank all of you for your support and loyalty. That’s all. Have a nice day.”

Along with being a race car driver, Combs also hosted Mythbusters from 2009 to 2010. Our thoughts and prayers are with Combs’ friends and family during this very difficult time.
