Mariska Hargitay has an incredible career as she starts record-breaking Season 21 on Law & Order: SVU and she also has amazing fans, but she may have an even better husband in Younger star (and frequent SVU guest star) Peter Hermann!
The Law & Order: SVU star took to Instagram on Tuesday to show her gratitude to her actor hubby for helping her produce the documentary I Am Evidence, which is about the thousands of rape kits that are left untested in police storage every year.
“Finally @iamevidencemovie would not have been possible without possible my partner in all things #PeterHermann. Your constant support and love throughout the making of IAE humbled me, and I’m so grateful,” Hargitay captioned a sweet photo of the couple.
“Thank you for watching every cut, for your great eye, your notes and your intelligence. And your big, beautiful heart. Building your dreams is like building a house—it requires patience, loving care, and a solid foundation. To the other halves out there: you make the dream possible.”
Mariska Hargitay also shared a post reflecting on winning the News & Documentary Emmy and thanked the people involved in the special project that was very close to her heart.
“Last Tuesday’s News Emmys Best Doc Win for @iamevidencethemovie validated the voices of survivors & the movement to #EndTheBacklog. We showed that, as Margaret Mead said: Never doubt that a small group of committed citizens can change the world, indeed it is the only thing that ever has,” she wrote.
“Thank you to all of the survivors for sharing your voices. #BelieveSurvivors. Thank you to the remarkable, powerful, visionary producers for their commitment to this project and to the fight to #endthebacklog of untested rape kits in this country.”
It’s been a big week for Mariska Hargitay, who also celebrated the premiere of Season 21 of Law & Order: SVU, which is now the longest-running network drama of all time. Hargitay and Hermann, who actually met while appearing on SVU together, have been married for 15 years and the couple has three children — Amaya, August, and Andrew.
