On Law & Order: SVU, Olivia Benson loves her son Noah, whom she adopted as an infant, with all her heart and he loves her back. Their portrayers, Mariska Hargitay and Ryan Buggle share an offscreen bond as well and now the young man has a birthday wish for his famous co-star and boss!
“Another year with you by my side is another year of magic,” posted Buggle, along with two fantastic pictures of the two hanging out. He has played Benson’s son the longest and plays him currently. He added, “Happy Birthday to my second mama, @therealmariskahargitay I love you!”
Hargitay is celebrating her birthday today! She was born on January 23 in Santa Monica. Her parents are late movie star Jayne Mansfield (Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter?) and late former Mr. Universe Mickey Hargitay, who did a guest spot on the hit NBC show back in 2003.
Buggle took over the role of Noah Porter-Benson in 2017. The character has gone through more dramas and traumas at a very young age than most people will in their entire lives. Shuttled around to foster homes, which never seemed to work out, Noah was later taken in by Olivia.
She had to battle official inquiries into how she balanced her home and work life in order to hang onto him. Olivia faced every parent’s greatest nightmare when Noah went missing. It turned out he’d been kidnapped by his own biological grandmother, Sheila (played by Hargitay’s real-life pal Brooke Shields), who had planned to run away with him.
Olivia grabbed Noah once too hard after he ran out into traffic and she had to face allegations that she was being too forceful with her son. He’s also had a measles scare and faced and survived other dramas worthy of a character crafted by Charles Dickens. Like his mom, Noah is strong!
Off-screen, Buggle has stayed busy appearing on other New York-based shows including The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Saturday Night Live, and he’s currently wrapping up a role in the film Lazy Susan, which stars Emmy-winner Sean Hayes (Will & Grace), Emmy and Oscar-winning actress Allison Janney (Mom; I, Tonya), and Matthew Broderick (Ferris Bueller’s Day Off).
Entertainment Hub joins Ryan Buggle in wishing Mariska Hargitay a very happy birthday.
