Maisie Williams just spilled a massive Game of Thrones spoiler (GOT) while appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday, April 1. Or so we thought!
Though it seemed like Williams, who plays Arya Stark in the very popular HBO series, accidentally shared a huge secret, it was really all just a big April Fool’s Day prank.
However, the audience didn’t know that and everybody thought the 21-year-old had just ruined the show. It all started when Fallon asked Williams about the final eighth season of the show and how the cast handled the emotions.
“During shooting the final days were really emotional towards the cast because when I found out that Arya dies in the second episode I was —,” the actress shares before freezing up and covering her face.
The entire audience obviously gasps and Fallon says, “What?! Are you kidding me? That’s a spoiler.” Williams, freaking out, asks, “Is this live?”
“No,” Fallon says, calming her down. “They’re still going to tweet about it,” Williams adds. Fallon says, “No, it’s fine. Don’t worry about it. We can edit it, right?”
They then try to restart the interview, but Williams runs off stage appearing very upset. Fallon decides to follow her, which is when they both come out and say, “April Fools!” Despite the heart attack, we’re sure the audience had, we have to say it was a very good prank!
However, does this mean that Arya doesn’t actually die in the final season? Or does she just not die in episode two? Guess we’ll all have to wait a couple of weeks and find out! In the meantime, you can watch the prank below.
