When The Return of the Jedi ended, Star Wars fans thought that was it. The world was saved by adorable furry creatures, as well as full-fledged moral Jedi, Luke, who managed to resist his temptations to go to the dark side of the force.
Well, of course, there was a lot more story to tell–both before we ever met Luke and after Anakin Skywalker died with his Darth Vader mask finally off.
This Christmas, we get to see Luke again in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, released on December 15. In the highly-anticipated film, Rey finally meets her idol, Luke Skywalker, a man alone on a mountain proclaiming that the jedi must end.
Perhaps Luke truly feels the guilt of having trained his nephew and then having him turn. Or, perhaps there’s deeper meaning behind his words.
Either way, we now see how dark Luke will look in the new film thanks to a Hungarian magazine cover actor Mark Hamill tweeted on Wednesday.
Take a look for yourself and tell us what you think. Did something dark and sinister happen to our young hero?
