It’s been a tough couple of weeks for Lori Loughlin, but it’s been even tougher because her friends are reportedly turning on her.
The Full House actress was arrested earlier this month after she and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, allegedly paid $500,000 so that both their daughters — Olivia and Bella — would be guaranteed entrance to the University of Southern California.
While this is of course shocking for fans, this news is also reportedly a surprise for people close to the family.
“It’s absolutely shocking. … Nobody knew and nobody would expect this from them. They are good people and it’s very sad to hear this went on. It’s disappointing,” a source told Us Weekly.
“There’s going to be backlash and people already want to distance themselves.”
The source continued, “The fact that this was the example and life lesson they taught their daughters is just very surprising, knowing who they are.”
As expected, this is the worst possible outcome for both Loughlin and her daughters.
“This is Lori’s worst nightmare — not only for her, but for her children and extended family. It’s a very scary time for them.”
Both Bella and Olivia decided to not return to USC following the scandal and the whole family has been laying low.
