Actress Lori Loughlin was dropped from Hallmark and her role on the series When Calls The Heart following her arrest in connection to a national college admissions bribery case known as #VarsityBlues. Now, the actress has taken another career hit over the scandal.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Loughlin is now losing her job as Aunt Becky on the Netflix series Fuller House, the revival of the long-running ABC sitcom Full House.
Fuller House is set to return this fall for a fifth and final season.
The fallout from Loughlin’s arrest has also affected her daughters, Isabella, 20, and Olivia, 19. TMZ reports that both will not return to USC, the college which they were attending, over concerns about being bullied due to the admissions scandal.
No word yet on how When Calls The Heart or Fuller House will write out Loughlin’s respective characters, Abigail and Becky. Producers of the former have released a statement via Instagram, posted below.
Loughlin is known to daytime fans for her portrayal of ingenue Jody Travis on the ABC soap Edge of Night from 1980-83. EON aired reruns on the USA Network in the mid to late 1980s. Episodes of EON were also available via AOL Video Service from August 2006 to January 2009.
