Former Fuller House actress Lori Loughlin has been released after serving two months’ time for her part in the college admissions scandal that rocked Hollywood and saw another actress, former Desperate Housewives and American Crime Story star Felicity Huffman, also have to serve time.

Lori Loughlin Sprung From Prison

According to People.com, their legal source confirmed Loughlin was released from a federal correctional facility in Dublin, California, early Monday morning after serving nearly two months of her sentence.

It was last May, after trying to fight the charges, that the former Hallmark darling, where she had been playing the lead in their long-running series When Calls The Heart for many seasons, took a plea deal in the case, along with her fashion mogul husband, Mossimo Giannulli.

In addition to the prison time, Loughlin agreed to pay a $150,000 fine, two years probation, and 100 hours of community service while Giannulli agreed to serve five months in prison, pay a $250,000 fine, and also finish 250 hours of community service.

The two had tried to gain college entry for their daughter Olivia Jade, a social media influencer who wasn’t even wanting to interrupt her burgeoning career to attend college, by making it appear she was able to join the rowing team.

On August 21, she was sentenced via a Zoom meeting by a federal judge, who didn’t object to the conditions of the May plea agreement but did speak to the loss to the education system, dressing down the actress about what she had done to subvert the system. Her husband released a statement at the time.

“I deeply regret the harm that my actions have caused my daughters, my wife, and others,” Giannulli said in a short statement during the August hearing in which he showed little emotion. “I take full responsibility for my conduct. I am ready to accept the consequences and move forward with the lessons I’ve learned from this experience.”

While Lori Loughlin wasn’t released in time to spend Christmas with her kids, she will be there to ring in the new year.
