Lori Loughlin was officially released on $1 million bond after she was arrested following her involvement in the college bribery scam.
The actress was working in Canada when the indictment was released on Tuesday, March 12, but she flew back and surrendered on Wednesday, March 13.
“Dozens of individuals involved in a nationwide conspiracy that facilitated cheating on college entrance exams and the admission of students to elite universities as purported athletic recruits were arrested by federal agents in multiple states and charged in documents unsealed on March 12, 2019, in federal court in Boston,” the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Massachusetts said.
A judge told the Full House star to surrender her passport, but she will be able to travel within the US and go back to Canada for her work.
Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, are accused of paying $500,000 so they’re two daughters, Olivia and Bella, could get accepted into USC.
Meanwhile, Loughlin’s daughter Olivia was on a USC yacht owned by billionaire Rick Caruso when her parents were arrested.
“My daughter and a group of students left for spring break prior to the government’s announcement yesterday,” Caruso told People.
“Once we became aware of the investigation, the young woman decided it would be in her best interests to return home.”
Nearly 50 people have been arrested in the bribery scheme, including actress Felicity Huffman who was also released on a $250,000 bond.
