While some soap stars stick to the drama of daytime, others branch into movies of the holiday variety. Here are five Christmas movie stars you forgot appeared on soaps.
Lindsay Lohan
It was just before she pulled double duty in The Parent Trap that Lindsay Lohan held a recurring role on Another World as Alli. Her character lasted a year before the character exited and was later recast, but that wasn’t Lohan’s first daytime role. In 1993, the actress appeared on Guiding Light as Chrissie.
While Lohan has since made a name for herself in recent years starring in Christmas romcoms on Netflix, like Falling for Christmas and Our Little Secret, you also can’t forget the iconic scene in Mean Girls where the group perform some sexy choreography to “Jingle Bell Rock.”
Trevor Donovan
Many may not know that Trevor Donovan was once a part of the Horton family, his second-ever role being on Days of our Lives as Jeremy. Donovan was only in Salem for four months before leaving town to get his life back on track after attempting to kill Stephanie.
The actor went on to become one of the “Hallmark hunks” and a Great American Family member, starring in Christmas romcoms, including one with fellow DAYS alum Jen Lilley (ex-Theresa, DAYS). (Learn what Lilley has planned for 2025).
Joyce Guy
Joyce Guy is remembered by General Hospital fans as Phyllis, one half of the couple who welcomed in an amnesiac Sonny (Maurice Benard) after he wound up in Nixon Falls. She spent a few years in Port Charles running Charley’s before it was recently revealed that she had moved back home, allowing Kristina (Kate Mansi) the opportunity to run the pub.
Guy is also a familiar face for Christmas movie lovers, having played Principal Compton in 1994’s The Santa Clause.
Corbin Bernsen
Corbin Bernsen is not only known as Father Todd Williams on The Young and the Restless off and on since 2004, but also as the son of Y&R legend Jeanne Cooper. Bernsen last appeared in Genoa City in 2017.
In the Christmas movie world, the actor is known for playing David in I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus, a comedy about a child, played by Dylan and Cole Sprouse, who catches his mother kissing Santa, unbeknownst to him it’s actually his father in costume.
Lacey Chabert
One of Lacey Chabert’s very first roles was as Bianca on All My Children. Chabert only appeared in 10 episodes from 1992-1993.
