Law & Order: SVU started its 21st season with a Harvey Weinstein-inspired episode, so it’s no surprise their third episode is based on another storyline pulled straight from the celebrity headlines.

In a promo for next week’s episode, a celebrity is attacked and his story becomes national news. In fact, it looks like it’s inspired by what happened to former Empire star Jussie Smollett, who was accused of staging his own hate crime.
