Kelsey Grammer’s Daughter, Spencer Grammar, Stabbed In New York City

Spencer Grammer, who played Lucy Montgomery on As the World Turns, was stabbed while at a New York City restaurant as she was among a group of people trying to break up a physical altercation.

The daughter of Kelsey Grammer — TV’s Frasier Crane — told USA Today that she sustained a laceration on her arm in the melee. A friend she was dining with was stabbed in the back, but thankfully, neither were seriously injured.

Accounts of the scene reveal that the younger Grammer and her friend were dining at an outside table in the East Village around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday when an unknown man arrived, demanding to be served. When the restaurant refused because they were in the process of closing, an argument ensued, leading to all the drama.

“My friend and I did what anyone else would do in the same situation,” Grammer said. “Several others, predominantly women, were also attempting to prevent the altercation from escalating.”

According to the paper, the NYPD confirmed that “victims were transported to NYC Health & Hospitals/Bellevue and treated for non-life threatening lacerations.”

Grammer said she expects to “recover quickly” and thanked the first responders and those working at Bellevue Hospital for their assistance and care.

“They fought an incredible battle this year,” she said. “It was very moving for us to have the opportunity to thank them in person.”

The actress is currently the voice behind Summer on Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty, and is also known for playing sorority girl Casey Cartwright in ABC Family’s (now known as Freeform) Greek for four seasons.

The Twitter account for the NYPD Crime Stoppers posted a 12-second video from a street camera which shows the man police suspect perpetrated the attack in the city’s East Village, and they are offering up to a $2,500 reward for information on his identity.
