Justin Bieber is taking a moment to focus on himself and his well-being.
The pop star, who recently married wife Hailey Baldwin following a whirlwind romance, has decided to get help for anxiety and depression.
In fact, the 24-year-old has been visiting with doctors to get a handle on his mental health struggles, but he’s not in a rehab facility.
“He sees a therapist, but he’s not in a special center or anything. He doesn’t want to be dependent on medication,” a source told Us Weekly.
“He struggles with ups and downs, anxiety, depression, and uncertainty about the future.”
Though he is very happily married to Hailey, he knows he needs to continue to work on himself to be the best husband he can be.
This isn’t the first time Justin has been open about his struggles with depression.
He recently opened up about mental health during an interview with Vogue and revealed it was the reason he cancelled the remainder of his Purpose tour back in 2017.
“I got really depressed on tour. I haven’t talked about this, and I’m still processing so much stuff that I haven’t talked about. I was lonely. I needed some time,” he said.
Unfortunately, his depression lead him to depend on Xanax, which ended up becoming a fairly serious problem.
“Drugs put a screen between me and what I was doing. It got pretty dark. I think there were times when my security was coming in late at night to check my pulse and see if I was still breathing,” he explained.
Hailey and Justin reconnected over the summer and decided to tie the knot back in September.
Though they are legally married, they are still planning on having a ceremony for family and friends soon.
