Julia Roberts is speaking out following the college admissions cheating scandal that has rocked Hollywood in recent weeks.
The actress revealed she feels sorry for the children of the parents arrested in an interview with Britain’s ITV.
“That to me is so sad, because I feel, from an outsider, that it says a little bit, ‘I don’t have enough faith in you,’” she shared.
The 51-year-old has three children with her husband Danny Moder — 14-year-old twins Hazel and Phinnaeus and 11-year-old Henry.
“My husband and I are very aligned on that front, I think that we live a very normal experience with our children,” she shared.
“Obviously we have advantages that we didn’t have as children. But I think that’s the unique part of it, coming from the childhood that I have. You do need to know how to make your bed and do your laundry and make one meal.”
She continued, “These are important life skills. They have to run their own race. They have to have their own experience.”
Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin are two of the nearly 50 people who have been arrested after reportedly paying bribes to get their children into schools.
Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, allegedly paid half a million dollars to get their two daughters into the University of Southern California.
Huffman, on the other hand, reportedly paid $15,000 to have someone else take her oldest daughter’s SAT scores.
