Alex Trebek, the host of long-running game show Jeopardy!, tweeted out a special message for the program’s fans. If you haven’t seen it yet, you can now.
Earlier this year, the Emmy-winning host was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Trebek tackled the situation head-on and recorded a video in which he told his supporters that he was seeking treatment and planning on fighting the condition.
“And I’m going to keep working and with the love and support of my family and friends — and with the help of your prayers also — I plan to beat the low survival rate statistics for this disease,” he added.
Now, Jeopardy! has completed its 35th anniversary season of taping so, Trebek took the occasion to record another message to his followers in which he thanked them for the outpouring of well-wishes. He promises to see everyone when the show returns in September for its 36th season!
“Here on the last day of taping for our 35th anniversary season, I want to thank you for your continuing messages of encouragement and support,” Trebek said. “I’m touched beyond words.”
Trebek says he’s feeling good and is continuing with his therapy. While the show is on hiatus, Jeopardy! continues with new episodes that have previously been recorded.
Jeopardy! airs weeknights in syndication. Check local listings for air times.
