Former Alias star Jennifer Garner is known for many things but especially for her beautiful smile. But she isn’t smiling today but is instead mourning the loss of her family’s beloved pet who passed away Wednesday.
The actress shared the sad news on Instagram on Thursday that her pet chicken, Gonnyi, sadly passed away after suddenly getting sick. Also included is a video of Garner driving her sick chicken to the animal hospital.
“I’ve got to get Gonnyi to the hospital quick. I’ve never been a chicken, but I know this isn’t right. Part of her insides are coming out in the wrong way. This is not what the Lord had in mind for this chicken,” she says in the video.
Garner takes Gonnyi inside and gives her to the waiting veterinarians, but it’s unfortunately too late. In the video, the mother of three reveals they weren’t able to save her.
“Gonnyi suffered a prolapsed rectum and another undetermined mass in her nether regions. She will be dearly missed but is resting peacefully,” she wrote for the video.
Garner also captioned the post, “RIP Gonnyi. Yesterday we said goodbye to our sweet Olive Egger, Gonnyi. Thanks to my daughter’s consistent loving care, this chicken lived a very good life.”
Garner, a cofounder of Once Upon A Farm, has shared videos of her chickens before, including a video she posted back in February of her bringing her chickens home. “Moving day. All chickens are settling in nicely. Even Hennifer,” she captioned the post.
