Jennifer Garner is getting honest about what it was like to start a family in the public eye.
Though the actress is divorced from ex-husband Ben Affleck, the former couple remain close for the sake of their three children — 13-year-old Violet, 10-year-old Seraphina, and 6-year-old Samuel.
And, while both Jen and Ben chose to live public lives, the mother of three opened up to WSJ Magazine about bringing their children into that world.
“When I had kids, I started considering how jobs worked for my family. How much am I going to ask of my partner and kids? What’s worth it and what isn’t?” she said.
“Something Ben and I used to say to each other all the time is, ‘We have to adapt.'”
She continued, “There were so many things you wouldn’t expect. We’d be left alone more at Disneyland than we would at a park in Santa Monica. But if you love something, you’ll do whatever you need to do.”
Jennifer and Ben were married for 10 years before they decided to call it quits on their marriage in June 2015.
While Ben quickly moved on with his ex-girlfriend Lindsay Shookus, Jen took a bit more time before jumping into a new relationship.
However, she recently went public with her relationship with boyfriend John Miller.
Though Jen isn’t looking to jump into another marriage just yet, it’s great that she has moved on from Ben and is focusing on her own happiness.
“Jen feels so lucky to have met John and their relationship only continues to grow. They both wanted to take it slow, but it has gotten serious and they couldn’t be happier,” a source recently told Entertainment Tonight.
