The Netflix Star Speaks Out
“I will be on the Capitol every Friday, rain or shine, inspired and emboldened by the incredible movement our youth have created,” she wrote. “I can no longer stand by and let our elected officials ignore — and even worse — empower — the industries that are destroying our planet for profit. We can not continue to stand for this.”

The Grace and Frankie star, who is really making her co-star Lily Tomlin’s character of Frankie proud right now, also revealed she’s moved to Washington D.C. “Inspired by the young Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg, and the student strikers, I decided to upend my life and move to Washington D.C. for four months to focus on climate change.”

More To Do

Fonda shared a video of herself speaking at the protest to Twitter on Friday and revealed it’s not enough to just recycle or drive an electric car.

“We make personal choices like driving an electric car, or going vegan, or recycling, and we think that’s enough. And it’s great, and we have to keep doing it, but this is a collective crisis that demands collective action now.”

In other videos shared to social media, Fonda can be seen holding up signs and chanting, “We are here to apprehend the arsonists,” and being told by police officers that they’ll be arrested if they don’t move, which they were.
