Days of our Lives’ Chandler Massey has continued his niche of starring in time travel holiday flicks with his latest Hallmark Channel movie, A 90s Christmas.
The film primarily follows Lucy (Eva Bourne), who has refused to go back home for 25 years since her father’s passing. But when a magical rideshare driver takes her back home, she soon realizes she’s not home in 2024, but instead home in 1999. While Lucy navigates reliving the first Christmas without her father, she’s forced to make difficult choices involving her family, future career, and relationship with her then-crush, Matt (Massey).

While the film follows your typical Hallmark stereotypes like Christmas cookies and ice skating and mistletoe kisses, it also uniquely brings viewers back to the 90s and makes several references only millennials and prior will catch. Although the film had a much simpler ending than the twist that could have been predicted, it still had an enjoyable plot with a happy ending.
As for Massey, anyone who loves him as Will on DAYS (learn more about his upcoming return to Salem) will enjoy his take on an aspiring young actor with a crush on his best gal pal. Unlike the drama that fills Salem, this film allows Massey the opportunity to put his comedy skills to use, while wooing viewers as the literal boy next door.
Overall, A 90s Christmas kept things interesting throughout the entire film, with the main character having unexpected run-ins with her magical rideshare driver, a festive friends-to-lovers storyline, and a clever use of sudden bursts of Christmas songs to indicate when Lucy was potentially changing her future. The end, especially, gave viewers a more-than-expected glimpse into Lucy and Matt’s future.
