This week, Grey’s Anatomy will use flashbacks to tell the story of Megan Hunt (Abigail Spencer). The place was Iraq, the year was 2007, and the main event was Megan’s impending kidnapping.
Thursday’s episode, called Danger Zone, goes into detail about Hunt’s relationship with Riggs (Martin Henderson) when they were both deployed by the army so long ago.
According to ABC, back then Hunt had planned to marry Riggs. He had proposed but those plans went awry when the couple was inexplicably separated. Now we should learn how that actually happened.
Meanwhile, all this time both Riggs and Owen (Kevin McKidd) thought Megan was dead. They believed this was true until a decade passed, and suddenly, she reappeared. This was hard to fathom, as it was a veritable miracle.
Still, life had gone on before Megan Hunt showed up in Seattle in very bad condition. Before that, Riggs had become involved with Meredith and Owen had given up expecting his sister to ever return home.
Still, Owen wasn’t shy in showing that he did not feel kindly toward his would-be brother-in-law, a guy who became his hospital colleague.
This year, everything changed. How the plot played out before Megan returned to the United States has long been a show mystery that may finally be solved as Grey’s Anatomy unfolds during this week’s episode. Stay tuned.
Grey’s Anatomy airs Thursdays at 8 p.m., ET on ABC.
