Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) has always had a difficult relationship with his father on Grey’s Anatomy, but one day he was able to track him down and finally speak to him after many years apart.

In this flashback video, Jackson — who is accompanied by his ex-wife April Kepner (Sarah Drew) — garners up the courage to go speak to his dad — and it’s a moment that is emotional between the two exes.
