Let’s take it back — back to the very beginning of Grey’s Anatomy. Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) and Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) had an amazing love story that was full of ups and downs, and their initial meeting was certainly one for the books.

In this flashback clip from the pilot episode of Season 1, Meredith and Derek exchange names for the very first time after meeting the night before. It’s amazing how you can see the chemistry there from the very first moment.
