The Good Doctor Spoilers Season 1 Episode 5: Deja Vu?

The Good Doctor returns on Monday with a storyline that hits close to home in a strange way for Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore).

In the episode called Point Three Percent, the young intern meets a patient named Evan who looks uncannily like Steve, his deceased younger brother. Even Dr. Glassman (Richard Schiff) agrees.

According to ABC, Shaun and the kid come face-to-face in St. Bonaventure Hospital’s exam area. After that, he learns that this boy’s mother and father aren’t willing to disclose their son’s diagnosis.

But why? Shaun can’t understand this kind of betrayal (as he sees it), saying, “He’s the patient. Doesn’t he have the right to know?”

Glassman tells his protege that the matter is, ultimately, his parent’s call.

Then, in a very happy turn-of-events, Dr. Murphy says Evan may have been misdiagnosed with bone cancer.

Meanwhile, as ABC points out, “the [St. Bonaventure] team can’t figure out what keeps triggering their patients’ increasingly severe allergic reactions and races to find the cause before the next one kills another patient.”

The Good Doctor airs Mondays at 10 p.m., ET, on ABC.
