Glee’s Mark Salling Faces Years In Prison After Guilty Child Porn Possession Plea

 Comments

Glee’s Mark Salling (Puck) is about to spend from four to seven years behind bars after pleading guilty to owning and sharing child pornography involving a prepubescent minor. He initially pleaded not guilty.

The final sentence will be handed down by the judge in this case.

The serious offense was discovered when Los Angeles police used a battering ram to gain entrance to the primetime star’s Southern California home. There, in Sunland, law enforcement reportedly found more than 50,000 images of child pornography and erotica on Salling’s laptop and a flash drive.

That incident leading up to today’s plea occurred at the end of 2015 after the LAPD’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force obtained a warrant and served it on December 29.

His $20,000 bail was set at that time and he was released that same afternoon pending his first court appearance in January, 2016 when he was assigned a police monitoring device.

On Wednesday, according to court documents, Salling must now register as a sex offender. He must have no communication in any way, electronic and otherwise, with anyone under the age of 18 unless he is in a parent or legal guardian’s presence.

After his prison release, the date of which is to be determined, Salling is court ordered to pay $50,000 restitution to each victim who has made the request. He is also ordered to enter a sex offender treatment program and will be placed under official supervision for 20 years.

Also after being free from confinement, 35-year-old Mark Salling must stay 100 feet away from schoolyards, public parks, public swimming pools, public playgrounds, and video arcades.
