Glee and Days of our Lives Star Dot-Marie Jones Suffers Heart Attack

Dot-Marie Jones, best known for her role as Coach Beiste on Glee and to soap fans as Chille on Days of our Lives, recently suffered a heart attack. The quick thinking of her wife helped prevent the health crisis from turning into a true tragedy!

According to TMZ, Jones recently underwent emergency surgery after she started to feel a really bad burning sensation in her chest. Initially diagnosed with bronchial spasms and asthma, Jones began to feel worse while taking down her holiday decorations.

Bridgett, Jones’ wife, brought her to the hospital where she was seen by the same cardiologist who saved Bridgett’s life after she had had a stroke in 2017. Jones was diagnosed with what is referred to as a “widowmaker’ heart attack. Her condition was dire — 99% of her arteries were being blocked.

The actress underwent surgery and is at home now, recovering and resting. Stars are reaching out to Jones, sending words of encouragement.

Crystal Chappell (ex-Carly, DAYS), who worked with Jones on her Web series, Venice, wrote: “We are loving you and laying all over you from the Central Coast. Here whenever you need us!”

Rosie O’Donnell (ex-Naomi, All My Children), former host of her own talk show and The View, posted: “widow maker survivor !!! welcome to the club.”

A Special Caretaker

At home, Jones’ pooch, Fancy, has been very attentive. “FANCY HAS BEEN BY MY SIDE OR LAYING OVER MY LEGS SINCE I GOT HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL FRIDAY!! @bridgettcjones TOO, WELL MAYBE NOT LAYING OVER MY LEGS! ❤️😉😉 I’M A LUCKY 🍀 GIRL IN MORE WAYS THEN ONE!! TRULY BLESSED!!”

Along with her praise for Fancy, Jones credits her amazing physician, Dr. Nguyen, for saving her life. “KEEP ASKING QUESTIONS AND ANYTHING AROUND THE HEART AREA OR ANYTHING YOU’RE NOT SURE OF!!” Jones encourages. “WOMEN HAVE DIFFERENT SYMPTOMS THEN MEN AND NOT ALL THE SAME! I AM BEYOND LUCKY AND TRULY BLESSED TO BE HERE!! THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR THE LOVE!! I LOVE YALL!!”
