Former Bachelor Villain Krystal Nielsen On Suffering From Depression

Former Bachelor star Krystal Nielson is reflecting on the highs and lows of 2018. Though she got engaged on Bachelor in Paradise to Chris Randone, she also suffered financial downfalls and was considered the villain on her season of The Bachelor.

Nielson opened up about suffering from depression in an Instagram post on Wednesday, April 10 and what she said may give others hope about handling life’s tough obstacles.

“Yesterday I spent the day going through every single transaction that took place in 2018….As I recounted these purchases I began re-living these moments. A year of extreme lows and highs.

“The year that my name would be synonymous with villain. The year that $12,000 in hospital bills would drop my 750 credit score to 620. The year that my little brother came to live with me in 300 square feet after being in the streets,” she wrote.

Despite her financial issues and the stress of being considered a TV villain, Nielson decided to pursue her passion of creating a workout program.

“Also the year that I said f—k fear and launched my own business. The year that I made my dream to write a workout program come true. The year that I had to confront the self-limiting beliefs that I wasn’t good enough for success and fulfillment.”

But that wasn’t all of it. The year wasn’t just about her growing in a way that helped her finances — it also helped her grow as a person and find fulfillment.

“The year that I had to allow myself to trust. The year that I would surrender to love,” she explained. But it wasn’t just about growth. She also had to face some hard truths that included huge hospital bills.

“The months of anxiety and depression. The confrontation that I had failed and fallen and didn’t know what pieces could even be put back together.”

The reality star ended the post by thanking 2018 for the good and the bad times. She wrote, “2018 You taught me that my heart is the only validation that I need. To embrace the dark nights because that is when we grow the most. And most importantly to never lose faith in my dreams.”
