It’s a sad day for Bachelor Nation.
Former Bachelor star Cristy Caserta has died at the young age of 38. According to E! News, the ex reality star collapsed while attending a class on Thursday, October 4 in Sunrise, Florida.
Her classmates immediately called 911 because they thought she had suffered a seizure. First responders took her to the hospital, where she was eventually announced dead.
It is still unclear as to what exactly caused her seizure, but her death is currently under investigation.
Cristy is best known for being on Brad Womack’s second season of The Bachelor. She was sent home during the first week.
Many people within Bachelor Nation sent their condolences, including blogger Reality Steve.
He tweeted, “Sick to my stomach to see that Cristy Caserta from Brad Womack’s 2nd season, has suddenly passed away. Cristy was always there to give me legal advice in the past. I’m at a loss after seeing people post on her FB. Just spoke a couple weeks ago. RIP my friend.”
Bachelor producer Elan Gale also tweeted, “Cristy Caserta was a truly wonderful person and we are heartbroken by her tragic passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones at this time.
Fellow contestant Ashley Spivey told Us Weekly, “I’m absolutely heartbroken about Cristy. She was one of the kindest people I met on the first night of the show and she continued to be an amazing friend. She was as smart and funny as she was beautiful. She will be deeply missed in this world.”
Emily Maynard, who was on Brad’s season and then went on to become The Bachelorette, sent her thoughts and prayers as well.
“Being on a show like The Bachelor, you truly form relationships that are so special because it’s an experience no one else can relate to. I’m grateful for my memories with Cristy and will be praying for her family and friends.”
Our thoughts and prayers are with Cristy’s family during this horribly tragic time.
