With just one more week of The Bachelorette left, it’s time to start thinking about who will be our next star of The Bachelor. While there are a lot of great options, including the possibility of Tyler Cameron and Peter Weber, there’s one guy who stands out among the rest.

Mike Johnson is a clear favorite from Hannah Brown’s season and would be a great choice as the next leading man. Not only is he handsome, but he also has a great personality and people seem to really love him. Here are five reasons why the 31-year-old should be the next Bachelor!

5. Making History
Johnson would be the first black Bachelor in history if he gets picked as the next leading man. While this shouldn’t be the only reason he gets chosen, it’s about time this show embraced diversity, especially when it comes to their leads.

4. Good Intentions
Johnson made it very clear from day one on The Bachelorette that he’s on this show to find love. He was always looking out for Brown’s heart and her best interests, which shows he’s really in it for the right reasons. He’s also over 30, which not only could be a good sign that he’s ready to settle down, he may have a better idea of what he wants.

3. Gainfully Employed
Let’s be honest, so many of the guys who compete on The Bachelorette do not have real jobs. Whether they’re “entrepreneurs” or “influencers,” there’s always a handful of guys who simply come on the show to gain Instagram followers. But the good news is that Johnson is a portfolio manager who appears passionate about his career.

It’s important for The Bachelor to be liked, and it’s very obvious the guys on The Bachelorette loved Johnson. He seemed to get along with all of his fellow cast members and he had great energy with everyone which whom he came in contact. This support is crucial when picking the next lead.

Bottom line — America loves him. The producers on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette really only care about ratings, so they’re going to pick the person who’s going to bring them the most ratings. There’s a groundswell of support for Johnson on social media, which could entice producers to pick him for the job.
