After weeks of twists and turns, The Handmaid’s Tale Season 3 finale is finally airing on Wednesday, August 14. Just like the rest of the season, this episode is sure to have us on the edge of our seats, but we do have some big questions that need answering.
From where some major characters are to if June’s (Elisabeth Moss) plan is actually going to work, here are the five biggest questions we have going into The Handmaid’s Tale Season 3 finale.
5. Is Commander Waterford In Prison Forever?
After traveling to Canada to get his daughter back, Commander Waterford (Joseph Fiennes) was arrested and put into prison for war crimes. While this moment was amazing and extremely gratifying, we have a hard time believing it’s going to last. He’s probably going to work his Gilead magic and get himself out of there ASAP.
4. Is Emily Back Together With Her Wife?
It’s been quite some time since we have seen what Emily’s (Alexis Bledel) been up to in Canada. The last time we did she was reunited with her son and her wife, but it wasn’t clear if they were going to give their marriage another shot. We need to know the status of her relationship, please!
3. Where’s Nick?
Speaking of people we haven’t seen in a while, Nick (Max Minghella) has been MIA for practically the entire season. We know he’s off doing military things, but is he now a bad guy? Is he a good guy in disguise? Is he going to save his daughter? We need the season finale to give us more details about Nick’s situation and well-being.
2. Are The Kids Going To Get Out?
June has a master plan to get all of the kids out of Gilead and into Canada, but it’s unclear if she’ll actually be able to complete the mission. Not only does she have to get all 50 kids out of their homes, but they also have to safely make it across the border. We don’t know how much more sadness we can take, so these children better be OK!
1. Will June Survive All Of This?
Here’s the biggest question of them all — will June make it out of this season alive? Of course, the show focuses on her but that doesn’t mean she’s safe until the end. She’s pushed her luck this season, so we wouldn’t be surprised if things don’t end well for her. Plus, judging by the finale’s promo, it does look like she’ll be running for her life.
