Mandy Moore is currently best known for playing Rebecca Pearson on the hit NBC show This Is Us, but the actress has been working in this business for almost 20 years (and she’s only 35, by the way).

From starting her music career when she was just a teenager to landing the main role in A Walk to Remember, Moore has been in our lives for quite some time. Here are five fast facts about the multi-talented star!

1. FedEx Discovery
Mandy actually got her big break in music thanks to a delivery man who overheard her singing in a studio in Orlando, Florida. He had a friend who worked at Epic Records in New York and sent a copy of her demo to him. The rest is history!

2. Boyband Girl
Before becoming an award-winning actress, Moore was best known for being a pop singer. In fact, she began her music career as a teenager opening on tour for NSYNC and The Backstreet Boys!

3. Fashion Designer
Not only has she been a singer and an actor, but she was also once a fashion designer. She had a clothing line for tall women — she’s 5’10 — called Mblem.

4. In the Beginning
Moore is obviously best known for her roles in movies like A Walk to Remember and The Princess Diaries, but her first movie role was something much different. She actually voiced the character of a bear cub in Eddie Murphy’s film, Dr. Dolittle 2.

5. ‘Social’ Meeting
Moore is currently married to musician Taylor Goldsmith, but they definitely didn’t meet in a traditional way. In fact, the couple originally connected because Moore slid into his DMs! She messaged Goldsmith, who is a member of the band Dawes, because she really liked his music. The rest is history!
