Joe Keery is best known for playing the iconic Steve Harrington on Stranger Things. Though Keery didn’t have a huge role in Season 1, he became a major character when Season 2 came out back in October 2017.

In the Beginning
Keery was born and raised in Newburyport, Massachusetts and he attended River Valley Charter School and Newburyport High School. He has four sisters and began acting in high school theater.
TV Twin
The Internet freaked out when Season 1 of Stranger Things premiered because a lot of people think Keery looks like Ben Schwartz, who played Jean-Ralphio Saperstein on Parks And Recreation. The Internet also created a theory that Steve Harrington, who is Keery’s character, is actually the father of Jean-Ralphio since both take place in Indiana.

Double Threat
Along with acting, Keery is also a musician! In fact, he plays guitar in a Chicago-based band called Post Animal. The band has released two full-length albums.
What Could Have Been
When Keery initially auditioned for Stranger Things, he went out for the role of Jonathan Byers. Charlie Heaton obviously got the role of Jonathan, but Keery was able to snag the role of Steve.
Co-Star Relationship
Keery has been dating actress Maika Monroe for a few years. The couple initially met while they were working on the indie film After Everything, which came out in 2018.
