Five Fast Facts About Killing Eve Star Sandra Oh

There is arguably no one more successful in television right now than Sandra Oh. After 10 seasons on Grey’s Anatomy, she decided to leave the popular ABC drama for other opportunities. Thankfully, she joined one of the best shows on television, Killing Eve, and hasn’t looked back.

Sandra Oh has also recently been named one of Time magazines 100 most influential people and graces one of their six covers. So think you know everything about her? Check out these five fast facts and see if you do.

1. Trilingual
Not only does Oh speak English and Korean, but she also speaks French! Because she is from Canada, she actually picked up French while studying at the National Theater School of Canada in Montreal, Quebec.

2. Famous Ex
Oh has kept her relationship history pretty much under wraps, but she did marry a very famous director named Alexander Payne. Payne has directed movies like Sideways (which she starred in), The Descendants, Nebraska, and Downsizing. The couple got married in 2003, but they announced their separation in 2005.

3. Ballerina
Prior to becoming an award-winning actress, Oh was a ballerina! In fact, her parents put her in ballet when she was just 4-years-old. Though she never became a professional ballerina, it did make her fall in love with performing.

4. Miranda Bailey?
Fans of Grey’s Anatomy probably can’t picture Oh playing any other character besides Cristina Yang, but that was almost not the case. Oh actually auditioned for the role of Miranda Bailey, which ended up going to Chandra Wilson, and came very close to getting it.

5. Animation Star
Oh is not only a star in front of the camera, but she’s also a star behind the microphone. Many people don’t know this, but Oh has actually voiced a number of characters on animated series, including American Dad, Phineas and Ferb, and Mulan 2.
