Chris Soules, who’s also known as “Prince Farming,” starred on Andi Dorfman’s season of The Bachelorette and then become The Bachelor himself for Season 19. Though he didn’t end up with anyone from his season, he definitely made a name for himself in the franchise.
From his history as a farmer to his tragic accident, here are five fast facts you need to know about the former star of The Bachelor.
In the Beginning
Soules was born and raised in Arlington, Iowa, which is a very small town in the Midwest. He’s also a fourth-generation farmer and still works on the farm in Iowa. He even majored in Agricultural Studies at Iowa State University.
Tractor Comes First
Believe it or not, Soules actually learned how to drive a tractor before he learned how to drive a car! He started working on the farm at a very young age and therefore it was more important to learn that skill.
Previously Engaged
Prior to getting engaged to Whitney Bischoff on his season of The Bachelor, Soules was actually engaged to his college sweetheart, Sheena Schreck. They ended up calling off their engagement.
Dancing King
Following his time on The Bachelor, Soules went on to compete on Season 20 of Dancing With the Stars. He was partnered with Witney Carson, and they were eliminated in the eighth week and finished in fifth place.
Arrested And Charged
Soules was arrested after he left the scene of an accident back in April 2017. Soules accidentally hit a man in a car with his tractor, which tragically killed him. He was reportedly in possession of alcohol at the time of the accident. He has yet to undergo a trial.
