Arie Luyendyk Jr. first joined Bachelor Nation when he competed on Emily Maynard’s season of The Bachelorette back in 2012. Though he ended up coming in second place, he made a name for himself among fans. He then got offered The Bachelor role in 2018, which is when he met his current wife, Lauren Luyendyk!

Luyendyk was born in The Netherlands, but his family moved to Wisconsin when he was just 3 years old. He currently lives in Arizona with his wife, Lauren, and their infant daughter.
Speed Racer
Following in his father’s footsteps, Luyendyk started racing cars at a young age. He is an Indy Car racer and was even named a test driver in A1 Grand Prix for A1 team The Netherlands back in 2008.

Facing Reality
Along with being on both The Bachelorette and The Bachelor, Luyendyk was also on HGTV’s House Hunters International when they were in Amsterdam. The episode aired in 2019.
Bachelor Nation Exes
Following Luyendyk’s time on The Bachelorette — and before he got his gig as The Bachelor — he actually dated Bachelor winner Courtney Robertson, who was on Ben Flajnik’s season. Though they only dated briefly, they are still friends.
Proud Papa
Luyendyk and his wife, Lauren Luyendyk, just welcomed their first child, a daughter named Alessi Ren, on May 29.
