Denise Richards has been working in Hollywood for a few decades. From television shows to movies to reality television, the 48-year-old has stayed busy with her career while also balancing a family. Though she had a very public relationship — and then divorce — from actor Charlie Sheen, there’s still a lot people don’t know about her.
Here are five facts about the actress who is currently juggling both The Bold and the Beautiful, where she plays Flo’s mother, Shauna, and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
1. Bond girl
Richards has been in a number of films, but she is very well known for being in the 1998 James Bond film, The World Is Not Enough with Pierce Brosnan. She reportedly liked the role of Dr. Christmas Jones because she was “brainy,” “athletic,” and had “depth of character,” a change in direction from previous Bond Girls in her opinion.
2. Friends actress
Because she started acting in the 90s, Richards has been on some very popular television shows, including Melrose Place and Beverly Hills, 90210. But, one of her best guest-starring roles had to be on the show Friends when she played Ross and Monica’s cousin, Cassie Geller.
3. Midwest girl at heart
Though she has spent much of her adult life in California, the actress was actually born and raised in Illinois! In fact, she spent the first 15 years of her life in a town called Downers Grove, but her family decided to move to Oceanside, California when she was in high school.
4. Reality paycheck
It may have come as a surprise to some people that Richards joined The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for Season 9, but she was given a hefty paycheck. In fact, she was reportedly paid a whopping $4 million for the season!
5. Mother of three
It’s no secret Richards has two children — daughters Lola and Sam — with ex-husband Charlie Sheen, but she also adopted another daughter after they got divorced. She adopted her third daughter, named Eloise, in 2011.
