There are fans of movies, and then there are fans of movies who go so far as to get a character tattooed on their body! That’s something Tom Hanks found out really quickly while meeting a fan on the street.
The actor shared a hilarious selfie of himself and a fan with a tattoo of Woody, Hanks’s iconic character from Toy Story, on Thursday.
“Well, howdy partner! Where’s Buzz? Hanx,” the actor captioned the photo on Instagram with his trademark signoff that he uses on pretty much every social media posting he makes.
This comes just a couple of days after the 62-year-old stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show to promote his upcoming Toy Story 4 film and learned many fans have his face tattooed on their body.
The topic came up while Hanks and DeGeneres were playing the talk show host’s iconic “Burning Questions” game.
“Do you know that people have tattoos of you on them?” DeGeneres asked him.
“The thought petrifies me, no I haven’t,” he said back.
The Finding Nemo star then showed the actor photos of people with his iconic characters on their body, ranging from Forrest Gump to Castaway.
Despite Hanks’s fear of tattoos of himself, the good thing about the Woody tattoo is that it’s not actually Hanks, it’s an animated character!
