Empire Video Sneak Peek: Cookie Gives Andre Motherly Advice

It’s no secret Lucious (Terrence Howard) and Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) are always at war on Empire, but now it looks like Lucious is also coming after their son, Andre (Trai Byers).

In this preview clip from tonight’s episode (November 19), Andre turns to his mother for advice on how to deal with his father. “He wants me out as CEO because I want to let the artist shine,” Andre shares.

“No baby, he wants you out because your name ain’t Lucious Lyon. And the better you do, the more irrelevant he feels. It’s that simple,” Cookie tells him. Andre asks his mother to help him out and get involved in their dispute, but she says she’s firmly staying out of their mess.

“Baby, I love you, but I’m not interested in getting in between a pissing contest with you and your father. This is only going to leave me pissed off and sopping wet. No thank you,” she says.

She continues, “You know what made your father so successful? He had a story. And when he told that story, people believed in him. You have a story, baby. Tell your story.” Watch the clip above to see the mother-son moment.
